    Welcome to Roma'Eat, a taste of Rome in the heart of Roath, Cardiff.

    From our humble beginnings as a takeaway on Albany road, Roma'Eat has transformed into a beautiful 40-seat pizzeria located in The Globe Centre on Wellfield road.

    The first to bring Roman pizza 'by the slice' to Cardiff, Matteo and his team bring their passion and creativity for food, sourcing only the best Italian ingredients and local produce to create the pizzas you know and love.

  • Our Story

    Initially from Rome, Italy, Matteo emigrated to Cardiff and worked under Tony Frawley at Anatoni's at The Globe Centre for a number of years honing his pizza making skills.

    With the dream of one day having his own pizzeria serving up Roman style 'by the slice' pizzas, in 2020 Matteo decided to venture out on his own and opened his first takeaway, Rome Eat.

    Not wanting to venture too far away from the community that had supported him, he opened Rome Eat around the corner on Albany road.

    Buon Appetito

    The small takeaway was an amazing success and quickly became a local favourite. Matteo's dream was still to have a proper sit down restaurant, and in 2023 Matteo seized an opportunity to move back to The Globe Centre where Anatoni's once stood, transforming the space to make it his own.

    Roma'Eat, as it is now known, is the culmination of Matteo's hard work and perseverance, sporting a stylish 40-seater pizzeria serving up Roman style, classic and their new range of Detroit style pizzas.

    If you're looking for a slice of Rome in the heart of Cardiff, you can't go past Roma'Eat.

Roman

Our traditional Roman style pizza is made with an 80% hydration, cooked on a tray (taglia) and cold fermented for a minimum of 48 hours. This makes our pizzas lighter, crunchy on the base and soft in the middle.

    Amazing pizza that tastes authentic! Very lovely staff, great quality food & service! This is my go-to pizza place in Cardiff. I recommend the Foro Romano pizza! The fries were really nice too, very crispy and fluffy too!
